Q: How can I open this offer for my child?

This offer can currently only be opened at a UBS branch. The child does not need to be present when it is opened.

Q: From when does the child have sole right of disposal of the account?

At the age of 12, the parents’ right of disposal ceases to apply by default, which the parents or the legal guardian are informed about in advance by letter. In order for the child to continue to have access to the account, they must go to a UBS branch to identify themselves and sign the new contractual documents.

Q: Can the UBS Debit Card for children be used online (e.g., internet, TWINT)?

The debit card can only be used for online transactions if this function has been activated by the parents in UBS Digital Banking. Online transactions with the debit card must be approved by the parents or legal guardian in the UBS Access App, if supported by the merchant (3-D Secure).

Q: How high is the debit card limit?

The daily limit is CHF 20 and the monthly limit CHF 100. Parents can adjust the daily and monthly limits in their UBS Digital Banking.

Q: Can children transfer money in Digital Banking?

No. Making any type of payment (including account transfers) is only possible via the parent or legal guardian’s UBS Digital Banking.

Q: Can the child access funds from their savings account for young people to make cash transactions with their debit card?

Access to the child’s savings account is blocked as standard. Parents or legal guardians can activate access to the savings account via the card settings in their UBS Digital Banking.

How can I open this offer for my child?

Who can open this banking offer for children under 12 years of age?

Only the child’s parents and/or legal guardian may sign contracts in their name. Accordingly, only these people may open an account. Only one parent or legal guardian needs to be present when opening the account.

In addition, the parents and/or legal guardian must already be UBS clients and have access to UBS Digital Banking. If you are not yet a UBS client, you can open UBS key4 banking online via app or a UBS me banking package directly in a branch.

What products are included in the banking offer for children under 12 years of age?

The personal account for young people forms the basis for the offer. All other products are optional and can be added depending on the needs of the child, parents and/or legal guardian.

Mobile Banking: How can a child register with their own phone and mobile number?

Enter the child’s phone number when opening the account.
Download the UBS Access App and the UBS Mobile Banking App onto the child’s smartphone.
Open the UBS Access App and follow the registration instructions.
A confirmation code will be sent to the child’s mobile phone number by SMS.
Enter the confirmation code in the UBS Access App to complete the registration.

Mobile Banking: How can a child register with their own phone but without their own mobile number?

Enter your phone number when opening the account.
Help your child download the UBS Access App and UBS Mobile Banking App.
You’ll receive a code to register for the Access App via SMS.
Your child can enter the code in the Access App and continue with the registration.

Regardless of whether the child registers with their own phone number or not, online purchases must always be approved via the parent or legal guardian’s Access App.

Mobile Banking: How can a child register without their own phone and mobile number?

Enter your phone number when opening the account.
Log out of your Digital Banking contract on your mobile phone.
Enter your child’s contract number in the UBS Access App on your phone (Access App > Settings > Add contract number).
Your child can log in to the UBS Mobile Banking App on your mobile phone with their contract number.

Regardless of whether the child registers with their own phone number or not, online purchases must always be approved via the parent or legal guardian’s Access App.
