Toddlers (0 to 5 years)

Initial discoveries and experiences

During this phase of life, children learn to control their impulses for the first time and have their initial shopping experiences. They discover the world with curiosity, compare themselves with others and start expressing their wishes.

School children (6 to 12 years)

Understanding money

At this age, children learn what money is for and make their first independent spending decisions. As they get older, their digital skills grow, comparison with others becomes more important, and they develop a sense of responsibility.

Teenagers (13+)

More personal responsibility

Young people increasingly have to think about making career choices and developing their own identity – there is more and more emphasis on making their own decisions about money and consumption. In high school, children often begin to distance themselves from their parents and try out their independence.
