The daily and monthly limits are CHF 20 and CHF 100 respectively. Parents or legal guardians can adjust these limits in UBS Digital Banking.

Q: Can my child transfer money in Digital Banking?

No. Making any type of payment (including account transfers) is only possible in the parent or legal guardian’s UBS Digital Banking.

Q: Can the account be linked with TWINT?

TWINT is not currently supported for children under 12 years old.

Q: What steps should I take when my child turns 12?

After their 12th birthday, your child must come to one of our branches so we can confirm their identity. They will then have sole access to the accounts. If desired, your child can grant you power of attorney so you can continue to have insight into their account transactions.

Who can open a children’s account for children under 12?

Only parents and/or legal guardians with custody rights are allowed to sign contracts on behalf of the child. Therefore only the aforementioned people may open an account. Only one parent or legal guardian needs to be present when opening the account.

In addition, the parents and/or the legal guardian must be UBS clients and have access to UBS Digital Banking.

If you are not yet a UBS client, you can easily and conveniently open your account via the app or make an appointment at a branch.

Mobile Banking: How can my child register?

a. Mobile Banking: How does my child register with their own smartphone and mobile number?

Provide your child’s mobile number when opening the account.
Download the UBS Access App and the UBS Mobile Banking App to your child’s smartphone.
Open the UBS Access App and follow the registration instructions.
An SMS with a confirmation code will be sent to the child’s mobile phone number.
Enter this code in your child’s UBS Access App to complete the registration.

Regardless of whether your child registers with their own mobile phone number or not, online purchases must always be approved in the parent or legal guardian’s Access App.

b. Mobile Banking: How does my child register with their own smartphone if they don’t have their own mobile number?

Enter your mobile phone number when opening the account.
Have your child download the UBS Access App and the UBS Mobile Banking App.
You’ll receive an SMS containing a confirmation code to register for the Access App.
Enter this code in your child’s UBS Access App to complete the registration.

Regardless of whether your child registers with their own mobile phone number or not, online purchases must always be approved in the parent or legal guardian’s Access App.

c. Mobile Banking: How can my child register without their own smartphone and mobile number?

Enter your mobile phone number when opening the account.
Log out of your Digital Banking contract on your smartphone.
Enter your child’s contract number in the UBS Access App on your smartphone (Access App > Settings > Add contract number).
Your child can log in to the UBS Mobile Banking App on your smartphone with their contract number.

Regardless of whether the child registers with their own mobile number or not, online purchases must always be approved via the parent or legal guardian’s Access App.
