Luis Cardoso is a Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for WM Americas. He is also a member of the Wealth Management USA Management Committee.
As CFO for UBS's wealth management businesses in Canada, Latin America and the US, Luis is responsible for the transparency in and appraisal of financial performance, for coordinating and validating planning and forecasting and for challenging and providing advice on financial and strategic aspects of projects and transactions.
Prior to assuming his current role in early 2018, Luis served as head of strategy for Wealth Management USA, as well as head of the Finance team supporting that business. He joined UBS in 2010 in Zurich to work on the firm's Corporate Development team, focusing on UBS Group Strategy and merger and acquisition activities.
Born and raised in Portugal, Luis completed his studies in the Netherlands. Upon graduation, he moved to Zurich to work at Alstom Power. After three years at Alstom, Luis moved in 2004 to McKinsey & Co in Zurich where, as a consultant, he focused on financial services for six years.
Luis holds degrees from the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands and Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon.
He lives in Hoboken, New Jersey, and enjoys sports, traveling and spending as much as time as possible with his three young children.
