Secure login made easy.

Personal security settings

Security is a must: With UBS Digital Banking, you can process your banking transactions very securely. Adjust your personal settings to further increase the security. It goes without saying that you can change the security settings again at any time.

Blocking online payments and cards for certain countries

Using the setup wizard in e-banking, you can easily block all countries to which you have not yet transferred any money. In e-banking or the Mobile Banking app, payments can no longer be made to these countries.

Restrict the use of your UBS Maestro Card geographically: Use it worldwide, throughout Europe, or only in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. In this way, you can increase the level of protection against card abuse.

Setting up a payment limit

Determine a monthly payment limit for payments via e-banking and Mobile Banking app. If the limit is exceeded, payments can no longer be entered in the current calendar month.

Deactivating accounts for online payments

If you have several accounts, you can deactivate individual accounts for online payments. These accounts will be blocked for transfers and account transfers via e-banking and the Mobile Banking app.

More convenience when making payments to new recipients

If you've never transferred money to a recipient before, for your security you need to confirm the payment recipient additionally one time, using your Access Card. This is not linked to the internet, which protects it against malware.

Good to know: some payment recipients have already been checked and approved by UBS. This includes most telephone companies or health insurers, for example.

In the settings, you can also determine the monthly limit (CHF 1,500 maximum) up to which you want to forgo the additional confirmation.

Security recommendations

If a situation appears unusual to you, never provide personal security features such as sent or calculated security codes. Furthermore, never use your Access Card or card reader. Instead, contact Support immediately.

Make sure you are connected to UBS

This is how to check the authenticity of the UBS certificates in your Internet browser.

Always start your login on

When establishing a connection, UBS e-banking provides a certificate. How to verify its authenticity:

  1. Click the lock symbol displayed in the URL (once or twice).
  2. The certificate displayed in the pop-up window must match one of the following certificates.

You do not need to check this when using our apps, such as the Mobile Banking app or the Access app. Here, the certificate is checked automatically.

Watch out for fraud attempts

These are indicated by unusual messages.

When you log in, the input number for the card reader must always have six digits. Fewer digits indicate a fraud attempt.

Also be careful if unusual messages appear or you are prompted to install software or make confirmations.

In this case, terminate the login process and contact the support team immediately.

Our digital banking apps automatically create a secure connection and offer increased protection against such fraud attempts.

Never disclose your access data to others

Do not carry out any confirmations with the Access Card when someone prompts you to do so.

Never disclose any personal access data, such as contract numbers, card numbers or security codes in case you are asked for such. Never disclose such data, even if allegedly requested by UBS. UBS will never take the initiative to ask you for such data - neither by telephone nor by e-mail or via the Internet.

After you log in, use your Access Card and card reader to confirm only character strings that you have entered or determined yourself. In this way, you can make sure they are correct. For example, these may be account numbers when making a payment or changes to your own contact data (e.g. telephone number).

Be careful when easing security settings

Only confirm settings with the Access Card that you have adjusted yourself.

You must confirm any easing of your personal security settings in e-banking with your Access Card. To do so, enter the term "OFF" in the card reader or the Access Card display. Then enter the displayed code in e-banking.

Confirm the term "OFF" only if you previously adjusted the settings yourself.

Log out correctly

This is the way to end an active e-banking session.

Log out after every session: Use the logout button at the top right in e-banking or Logout via the menu in the Mobile Banking app.

We recommend that you delete the browser cache after logging out.

Do not make a note of any critical PINs and passwords

Learn them by heart instead.

Do not make a note of any critical PINS and passwords with which you trigger payments or other financial transactions. These are for example the couple of PINs and passwords you need for debit and credit cards, payment solutions and the Access Card.

Do not save these PINs and passwords in a password manager like UBS Safe either - neither on your computer nor on your smartphone.
