Use of email

These terms govern the use of email between you and UBS in connection to the UBS Gold App. You wish to use the email address indicated above to exchange information between you and UBS via unsecured email.
You authorize UBS to use the above email address in particular to send publications on gold, marketing material, general service availability information and to provide technical support. These emails may reveal that you have certain UBS products and services (e.g. UBS Gold App, collective pool custody account) and allow third parties, such as network and service providers, to conclude that a banking relationship exists. The Client has the option to request that UBS ceases to send marketing material.

UBS deems any email received from the indicated email addresses to have been written by the person whose e-mail address appears as the sender's address in that email. Emails are processed in the ordinary course of business. In the event that the transmitted information is time critical, you must choose an alternative means of communication that ensures timely processing. You acknowledge that UBS reserves the right to not accept instructions received via email.
Emails are generally sent across borders via open facilities which might be accessible to third parties. Therefore, the use of email involves certain inherent risks including, in particular (1) a lack of confidentiality and, depending on the jurisdictions involved in the transmission, a lower data protection level; (2) manipulation or falsification of the sender's address or content; (3) misuse resulting in damages caused by third parties intercepting emails; (4) system outages and other transmission errors, which can cause emails and their attachments to be delayed, mutilated, misrouted or deleted; and (5) malwares that may be spread unnoticed by third parties via email and may cause considerable damage. You accept the risks of using emails, in particular the risk that the banking relationship and confidential information relating thereto might be disclosed to third parties. It is within your own responsibility to be aware of and implement the security precautions customary for public electronic networks (e.g. by installing a firewall and using an anti-virus program that must be updated regularly) and to use the email address only from devices which are protected against electronic attacks and unauthorized use. In case of any doubt as to the origin of an email, you must contact UBS by phone.
As far as permitted by law, UBS shall not be liable for losses or damages resulting from the use of email.

This authorization supplements any previous instructions regarding the exchange of information via email.
