UBS sponsors Pride networks in many of our locations. These networks are open to all employees regardless of sexual orientation and serve as a valuable cross-functional discussion forum. They also provide a support network for employees who are interested in creating and sustaining a lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender (LGBT)- friendly environment where people are comfortable being open and honest about their individuality.
One important goal of the Pride networks is to enhance professional development and organizational effectiveness by fostering recognition and appreciation of the individual contributions made by employees of all sexual orientations. In addition, they support activities across the firm in such areas as employee recruitment and mentoring. They also serve as a LGBT resource for Financial Advisors. Like some of UBS’s other employee networks, Pride networks actively support the core aims of winning the war for talent (through participation in recruiting activities), improving retention (via sponsoring networking and speaker events) and promoting Diversity of thought and approach in our businesses.
