UBS is integrating AI into our operations to foster innovation and enhance the client experience. In doing so, we are able to offer smarter, more efficient and highly personalized services, ultimately enhancing the overall client experience.
Building on the strong foundations we have in place, the transformative capabilities of AI will help us to deliver for our clients and increase our productivity across the Group.

Our approach

AI at UBS
We aim to become an AI-enabled institution where all benefit from AI tooling, and where we are building AI-powered capabilities to maximize impact for our clients, employees and shareholders in a responsible and sustainable way.
Building on more than a decade of experience in this field, our AI strategy is focused on two key pillars: reshaping business capabilities for our clients and enhancing everyday productivity for our employees.
For example, we have created ‘Red,’ a UBS AI Assistant, which integrates our extensive information library, making our institutional knowledge readily accessible to our employees in order to better serve our clients.
Responsible AI
Digitalized marketplace
As the digitalization of our business and the marketplace results in the adoption of new technologies, the responsible use of AI and the increasing regulatory and client expectations on ensuring ethical data usage are becoming more important.
Governance framework
Our AI efforts are supported by our governance and controls that are designed to safeguard the interests of our clients, employees and other stakeholders. Our Group AI policy sets out our governance standards and requirements for the development, adoption and operation of AI based on principles of respecting human autonomy, preventing harm, and ensuring fairness and transparency.
Strategic integration
UBS has dedicated AI governance bodies in place to oversee the implementation of the AI strategy, facilitating the integration of AI into the firm to enhance business processes while ensuring adherence to the AI risk framework, regulatory and compliance requirements, internal policies, and guidelines.
All employees are required to undergo training on the responsible use of generative AI, with additional training provided on an ongoing basis to specialists.
All of this is underpinned by our strong culture, Code of Conduct and Ethics.

How we use AI today
We’re constantly evolving, with technology and digital culture being at the heart of this transformation. And it’s not only about digital collaboration tools, or any model or methodology. It’s about adopting a mindset that truly transforms how we operate and innovate.
