The UBS Culture Foundation supports the production of professional documentary films for cinema with strong cultural and societial relevance, as well as public and sustainable impact.
We support
- Feature-length documentary films with theatrical release in Switzerland
- by Swiss producers and filmmakers with a proven track record
- with a budget between CHF 200,000 and CHF 1 million
Our contributions are intended as complementary funding. We primarily support projects whose overall financing can realistically be secured. A selection is made from all submitted applications.
We do not support
- Projects by production companies not based in Switzerland or by non-Swiss directors without permanent residence in Switzerland
- Minority Swiss co-productions
- Project and script development as well as post-production
- Fiction, short and animated films, nature documentaries, as well as projects primarily developed for TV or streaming
- Film students and projects produced in the context of education
