The UBS Culture Foundation supports the creative work of authors and translators, as well as projects that make literature accessible to a broad audience and encourage engagement with literary works.
We support
- Authors: Work grants for literary projects by authors with at least one independently published literary work issued by a professionally managed publishing house.
- Translators: Work grants for literary translation projects by professional translators who have published at least one literary translation. Particular consideration is given to translations of contemporary Swiss literature into Switzerland’s national languages.
- Literary mediation: Projects that make a relevant contribution to the mediation of and engagement with literature, with a focus on Swiss literature.
We do not support
- Projects by individuals who neither hold Swiss nationality nor have permanent residence in Switzerland
- First works (debut publications)
- Works that have already been approved for publication or printing at the time of the Foundation Board meeting
- Publishing and printing costs
- Students and projects developed in the context of education or training
