Electronic account reporting
No matter whether you receive or send payments and how many accounts you have, we answer all your questions here about the different variants of the current account reporting reports.
camt and SWIFT messages can be obtained at the same time, as long as the software supports them. Please contact your software manufacturer regarding feasibility. Your bank advisor will be happy to help you evaluate whether such a scenario would be useful. It can be useful in the context of migration for a specified transition period. After the migration phase, however, parallel delivery should in general be avoided.
After the switch from SWIFT MT 940 to camt.053, the electronic sequence number in the camt message will begin with “1” because camt is a new reporting product. As another option, consecutive numbering can be applied in the migration.
The sequence number of camt messages will be set back to “1” at the start of every year (as before with SWIFT).
UBS supports one single account per camt message, in accordance with SIX Swiss Payment Standards. In effect, a B-level is generated for every camt, which can only include one account at a time. Combining multiple accounts is not possible.
Until now, SWIFT messages could be received with proprietary account format or with IBAN.
Please keep in mind that camt messages can only be provided with IBAN.
Separate image files will continue to be provided as UBS has decided not to carry out the full acquisition of slips through PostFinance. Both SWIFT and camt messages will be accompanied by credit notifications such as “In accordance with separate advice.” Receipts will be available as before, via digital bank documents or paper notifications.
The stand-alone camt.054 for BESR generally does not differentiate additional camt.054 from the external collective booking details. The only difference is the “Reporting Source” element. In separate stand-alone camt.054, “OTHR” will be shown instead of “C53F” (with BESR/LSV).

The stand-alone camt.54 for BESR and LSV cannot be tested separately in the UBS Payment Standards Test Platform, but rather through the combination of camt.053 with external collective booking details in camt.054. The only difference is in the “Reporting Source” element:

camt account reports are always prepared in a structured format. There is no longer a difference between structured and unstructured formats, as was the case with SWIFT reporting in field 86. However, in both the “Additional Entry/Additional Transaction Information” and “Unstructured Remittance Information”, additional information is still given in a partly unstructured format. Additional details can be found in the Implementation Guidelines on cash management reports for camt.
The camt messages cannot be obtained retrospectively, but rather as of activation.
Details of BESR transactions can be obtained in the following camt variations:
camt.053
Details of the BESR transactions can be obtained in the camt.053 account statement. For this, the internal collective booking details must contain a “Bank collects" report. With this configuration, the End-of-Day camt.053 for BESR slips contains the collective booking in each case at C-level with the single details at D-level. This is the default setting of camt.053.
camt.054
If details of the BESR transactions are required in a separate camt.054 rather than a camt.053 account statement, external collective booking details for “Bank collects” can be configured. BESR slip details will not be displayed in camt.053, but rather in an additional camt.054.
Alternatively, a separate camt.054 (stand-alone report) can be obtained for the BESR transactions. This is an option if the camt.053 account statement is not needed, but rather a notification of BESR transactions through camt.
This can also be applied to LSV transactions.
The electronic account statement camt.053 displays account transactions that have definitively been booked, as well as current and future account balances. The camt.053 is relevant for accounting and, thanks to its electronic form, allows for automatic reconciliation of financial accounting.
The camt.053 is a daily account statement generated in each case after daily back-up, and is reliably available the next business day. It is possible to receive messages either all of the time or if transactions have been made.
The camt.054 (Bank-to-Customer Debit Credit Notification) is an XML Syntax-based report that serves many purposes. The message offers both a detailed display of collective bookings and individual credit notifications and charges.
The following camt.054 messages are offered by UBS:
- External collective booking details of account statement camt.053 or account report camt.052
- Separate collective booking details for BESR/LSV (replacement for v11 BESR-Data sets and Type 3 LSV data sets)
- Credit and debit advice (planned for 2018)
External collective booking details with camt.054 are independent of, and in addition to, the possible uses of camt.054 for credit and debit advice.
In the case of collective booking details, camt.054 is equivalent to v11 ESR credit note data sets and LSV credit note data sets. As credit and debit advice, camt.054 is equivalent to the existing SWIFT MT 900 / MT 910 reports.
The camt.052 electronic account report offers detailed information on account movements that have not yet been booked and delivers current information about pending payment flows throughout the day. The camt.052 is an ideal instrument for optimal cash management.
The camt.052 is an Intraday account report, which can be configured with different order intervals. By default, the camt.052 is issued three times a day at the following times: 7.00, 11.00 and 15.00. However, intervals may be customized - at most to 15-minute intervals. The message can be triggered either all of the time or only when transactions have been made.
The camt.052 account report is for all intents and purposes comparable to SWIFT MT 942.
