Staff engagement activities

Close to 200 of you joined us at the Focus Groups, Leadership Interviews and Workspace Design Workshops. Coming from across all businesses and functions, you shared with us many of your valuable insights and helped us understand your varying needs. Through these sessions, we are now moving towards finding the optimal point in different aspects- here are some highlights of what was discussed in each session.

Leadership interviews

Leadership interviews were held in April 2019 with senior leaders and their management teams from all business areas to discuss:

  • How UBS is structured within each of our division and function areas
  • How our teams currently work together, and also collaborate with other functions in their normal course of business
  • What is important in terms of our working environment, and how teams would ideally like to work in the future

Focus group discussions

This was followed by focus group discussions in May 2019 with staff.

The topics covered were:

  • The 'world of workspace' and how work environments can support our work and collaboration
  • Current work styles and what is important to our work, both individually and collectively
  • How we might want to work in the future

Design workshop

Moving forward, on Wednesday 29 May to Friday 31 May 2019, we brought together staff from each division to discuss the way forward with our new premises.

Some of the topics discussed included:

  • Design principles
  • Research findings
  • Planned central social zones
  • Stacking adjacencies and look and feel
