Pay with Google Pay and a UBS Credit Card

You can make contactless payments worldwide with an Android smartphone and a UBS Credit or Prepaid Card. Here you will find everything you need to know.

Google Pay is the quick and easy way to pay with your compatible Android device in millions of places around the world: online, in apps and wherever contactless payments are accepted with your UBS Credit or Prepaid Card.

All UBS Credit and Prepaid Cards for private and corporate clients from Mastercard and Visa are supported.

The maximum amount per transaction depends on the card limit of the chosen card.

Yes, the same card can be registered on several devices. The devices must be compatible with Google Pay.

Yes, you can. A UBS Credit or Prepaid Card can be used with several payment solutions at the same time. It is also possible to register several credit or prepaid cards on your smartphone.

Yes, you can. In your smartphone settings you can specify whether you want to set an app as your default app or select the payment solution individually for each purchase.

No, Google Pay only works with UBS Credit and Prepaid Cards.

In this case, please contact our customer service hotline (+41 44 828 39 61, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year) to remove your UBS Credit or Prepaid Card from Google Pay. If you use the UBS Mobile Banking App, you must also block it.

However, no credit card details are stored on your smartphone. Therefore you do not need to block the credit or prepaid cards themselves and can continue to pay with them.

The duties of care set out in the Special Terms and Conditions for the Use of Your UBS Credit or Prepaid Card for Mobile Payment Solutions otherwise apply, as do the General Terms and Conditions for the Use of UBS Credit Cards or UBS Prepaid Cards and the Basic Provisions for UBS Digital Banking (Mobile Banking: “Menu > Settings > Info & legal aspects”).

If your UBS Credit or Prepaid Card is lost or stolen, you must have it blocked immediately in UBS E-Banking or in the Mobile Banking App.

If you suspect criminal activity, you must report it immediately to the local police in Switzerland or abroad. The duties of care set out in the General Terms and Conditions for the use of UBS Credit Cards or UBS Prepaid Cards otherwise apply.

UBS will issue a replacement card for each blocked card. The data on the new cards will automatically be linked to the Google Pay app.

If you do not want the card to be linked automatically, please inform our Customer Service.

Block UBS Credit Card / Prepaid Card Block UBS Credit Card / Prepaid Card

You can delete the link between your cards and Google Pay in the Google Pay app. The physical cards remain fully functional.

The last ten transactions can be viewed in the Google Pay app. You can obtain an overview of all the purchases made on your card statement or in UBS Digital Banking.

In the Google Pay app, tap the card you want to delete. Select “Remove payment method” from the menu in the top right-hand corner (three items).

The UBS Credit or Prepaid Card will only be deleted in the Google Pay app and remains functional in other payment solutions.

If you have any questions about Google Pay and your registered UBS Credit or Prepaid Cards, you can contact our Customer Service at any time on +41 44 828 39 61.

If your existing card has been replaced due to expiry or damage, we will automatically link the new card to the Google Pay app. You can therefore continue to use Google Pay without any restrictions.

If you change the card product, you must register the card again in the Google Pay app. The previous card will automatically be deleted from the Google Pay app.

Yes, you can change the default payment method at any time in your smartphone settings.
