Making technology our differentiator is one of our five strategic imperatives.

Mike Dargan joined the Group Executive Board as Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO) on May 1, 2021. The new CDIO organization will play a crucial role in further driving technology to become a true differentiator for UBS and replaces the former Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO) function.

The appointment shows the high priority UBS gives to technology and digitalization which is also reflected in the fact that making technology our differentiator is one of our five strategic imperatives.

I’m excited to welcome Mike Dargan to the GEB in his expanded role. Given his strong track record and in-depth expertise, I’m confident that he is the right leader to help us achieve our strategic ambitions in the digital and technology space by bringing the best experience to our clients
says Group Chief Executive Officer Ralph Hamers.
We’ve been making huge strides in putting digital at the heart of what we do, for clients and for each other. In bringing together CDIO, we’re driving technology as a differentiator for UBS because we know that, without a doubt, technology and digital are changing our world
says Chief Digital and Information Officer Mike Dargan.

Mike has been Head of Group Technology since he joined UBS in 2016. Prior to that, he was CIO for CIB at Standard Chartered Bank, Head Corporate Strategy & M&A, EMEA and PacRim for Merrill Lynch and Head CIB, Asia-Pacific for Oliver Wyman.
