Early 1970s – Began sewing with her mother and developed a passion for dressmaking during the Cultural Revolution
1986 – Graduated from Beijing Second Light Industry School with degree in fashion design
1997 – Founded her own fashion brand and atelier, Rose Studio
2008 – Designed costumes for Beijing Summer Olympics opening ceremony and created a dress covered with 200,000 Swarovski crystals for Song Zuying's closing ceremony performance with Plácido Domingo
2008 – Completed "Magnificent Gold" (Da Jin) yellow dress 50,000 hours in the making over nearly two years
2009 – Debuted "One Thousand and Two Nights" collection at China Fashion Week
2015 – Rihanna wore "Magnificent Gold" gown at Met Gala and the dress went viral globally, establishing Guo Pei internationally. Two of her designs were displayed at Metropolitan Museum of Art alongside Marc Jacobs, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Tom Ford
2016 – Became first born-and-raised Asian designer invited as guest member of Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris and was named one of TIME Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People”
2024 – Collaborated with Master Tan Guanghui on "Glazed Splendor” containing over 13,000 porcelain pieces
