The unprecedented impact of COVID-19 is affecting assets across the investment spectrum. So far the infrastructure sector has been relatively resilient. While certain sectors like airports have been severely affected, others have received a boost such as clean energy and digital infrastructure, highlighting the importance of a well-diversified infrastructure portfolio. In our view, while we are still early in this crisis, the essential and defensive nature of these assets position the asset class to weather this crisis well, relative to many other asset classes.
