- In developing countries, the children in the poorest 20% of the population are still up to three times more likely to die before their fifth birthday than those in the richest quintiles.
- Meanwhile, women in rural areas are still up to three times more likely to die while giving birth than those living in urban centers.
- Corruption, bribery, theft and tax evasion cost developing countries about $1.26tn per year.
