
Governments, businesses and individuals around the world will turn off their lights between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, 28 March. This symbolic action begins in New Zealand and will progress across all global time zones.
UBS has taken part in Earth Hour since 2009 with more of our offices around the world joining each year (see below).
Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007 as a single-city call-to-action. Since then the initiative has grown into a global movement in which hundreds of millions of people around the world join together to acknowledge the importance of protecting our planet. More than 7,000 cities and towns in 162 countries worldwide switched off their lights for Earth Hour 2014, sending a powerful message for action on climate change.
