October 2017 Brazil Hackathon

iamtheCODE and Gastromotiva partner for event

iamtheCODE has joined forces with Microsoft to host a Hackathon in Brazil to address five of the United Nation' Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs).

iamtheCODE claims to be the first African-led global movement to mobilize government, private sector, philanthropic organizations and Foundations to advance STEAMED (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, Entrepreneurship, and Design) education for those in marginalized societies.

Founder Mariéme Jamme's mission is to build a generation of a million women and girl coders by 2030 to equip them with the skills needed for the future.

The main track at the event in Sao Paulo, addressing Goal 2 – No Hunger, was co-created with Gastromotiva, the Brazilian organization transforming lives with culinary training.

The best ideas from girls at the Hackathon will be incubated and supported by iamtheCODE in Brazil.
