Phyllis Costanza

Head UBS Philanthropy
CEO Optimus Foundation

Phyllis was appointed CEO of the UBS Optimus Foundation in 2011. Phyllis has been instrumental in reshaping the Foundation's strategy and introducing innovative financing vehicles, like the first Development Impact Bond in Education.

Prior to UBS, she was a senior executive and Board Member of the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF). She also has more than a decade of experience as a management consultant, and has worked in the public sector as the Manhattan Representative for New York State Governor Mario Cuomo, advising on policy and politics in Manhattan. In addition to her role as CEO of the UBS Optimus Foundation, Phyllis is also a member of the Boards of both the Power of Nutrition and the Micronutrient Initiative. She holds a Master's in Public Policy from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Tom Hall

Head UBS Philanthropy Services

With over 12 years' experience working with and advising private clients, Tom leads our UK Philanthropy services to help clients identify and achieve their philanthropic and impact investing strategies. Prior to joining UBS in 2013, Tom spent his career in the non-profit sector.

As Director of Philanthropy and Social Investment at the disability charity Scope, he pioneered the use of social investment structures, including the Scope Bond which was the first listed bond issued by an operational charity in the UK. Tom also worked with the cabinet office on the development of the new Social Investment Tax Relief. Earlier in his career, Tom was the first UK employee of the Microloan Foundation securing the investment for the charity to expand into sustainable microfinance.

Tom is a Politics graduate from Exeter University and has professional qualifications in marketing (CIM), fundraising management and financial planning.

Eric Landolt

Head, Family Advisory and Philanthropy Services, Switzerland & EMEA UBS Global Wealth Management

As a family governance specialist, Eric is working with families worldwide on multigenerational legacy planning topics, helping them design and implement their bespoke governance and decision making framework . As part of his advisory work, he also helps families in the design, the planning or the review of their family office arrangements.

Eric holds a Master degree in Finance from University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. He is a member of the Family Firm Institute, Boston, Massachusetts and a STEP qualified Trusts and Estates Practitioner.

Judy Spalthoff

Head Family Advisory and Philanthropy Services US

Judy leads a team of professionals who partner with financial advisors and their exceptional client families on wealth transitions, family governance, and philanthropy.  She has additional responsibility of representing WM USA UHNW within the Client Strategy Office. 

Judy joined UBS in 2008 from Citi Family Office and prior to Citi, she was an analyst for Accolade Partners LP, a fund-to-funds venture capital firm in Washington, DC.

She graduated with honors from Drexel University with a degree in information systems and technology and a minor in business administration. Judy also received her M.B.A. from New York University.

Judy completed the Generational Wealth Transfer workshop given by the Institute for Preparing Heirs, the Family Firm Institute Certificates in Family Wealth Advising and Family Business Advising, and earned the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy¬ģ designation. She is also Series 7, 63 and 65 licensed.

Susan Sy

Susan has over a decade of experience in the area of philanthropy, partnership development, grant making and project management. She assists individuals and families in family succession and legacy planning. And by doing so, helps clients realize their philanthropic aspirations through advice on strategic philanthropic giving and structuring legacy vehicles to maximize their reach and impact.

Susan holds a Master of Business Administration from Henry Tippie College of Business, University of Iowa and is a graduate of the RMIT University where she majored in Business Management and Marketing.
