Phyllis Costanza

Head UBS Philanthropy
CEO Optimus Foundation

Phyllis was appointed CEO of the UBS Optimus Foundation in 2011. Phyllis has been instrumental in reshaping the Foundation's strategy and introducing innovative financing vehicles, like the first Development Impact Bond in Education.

Prior to UBS, she was a senior executive and Board Member of the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF). She also has more than a decade of experience as a management consultant, and has worked in the public sector as the Manhattan Representative for New York State Governor Mario Cuomo, advising on policy and politics in Manhattan. In addition to her role as CEO of the UBS Optimus Foundation, Phyllis is also a member of the Boards of both the Power of Nutrition and the Micronutrient Initiative. She holds a Master's in Public Policy from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Tom Hall

Head UBS Philanthropy Services

With over 16 years' experience working with and advising private clients, Tom leads our Global Philanthropy services to help clients identify and achieve their philanthropic and impact investing strategies. Prior to joining UBS in 2013, Tom spent his career in the non-profit sector.

As Director of Philanthropy and Social Investment at the disability charity Scope, he pioneered the use of social investment structures, including the Scope Bond which was the first listed bond issued by an operational charity in the UK. Tom also worked with the cabinet office on the development of the new Social Investment Tax Relief. Earlier in his career, Tom was the first UK employee of the Microloan Foundation securing the investment for the charity to expand into sustainable microfinance.

Tom is a Politics graduate from Exeter University and has professional qualifications in marketing (CIM), fundraising management and financial planning.

Grégorie Muhr

Head UBS Philanthropy Services and Impact EMEA & CH

Grégorie leads the UBS Philanthropy Services and Impact EMEA & CH team. Drawing on over 15 years of experience in the for-profit and non-profit sector, she also advises wealthy families on how to have impact with their wealth – in particular on their philanthropic aspirations and social investing.

Prior to joining UBS in 2007 as a Client Advisor, Grégorie had several experiences in large French companies in human resources. She also led various strategic and change management projects aiming at improving gender diversity in leadership. She gained firsthand experience in the foundation world by working for the UBS Optimus Foundation where she was responsible for fundraising and was also involved in landscape analysis, project selection, and project evaluation on the ground.

Grégorie co-authored Sea beyond the Blue – a guide on the oceans for philanthropists and changemakers, and the UBS Fundraising Guide: A Resource for Philanthropists. She also led the UBS/TrustAfrica study on African Philanthropy Africa's Wealthy give back and worked on the elaboration of the UBS Philanthropy Compass a methodology to advise philanthropists.

She holds a Master of Sciences in Management of Human Resources and Labor Relations from the University of Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas and a B.A. in Economics from the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Judy Spalthoff

Head Family Advisory and Philanthropy Services US

Judy leads a team of professionals who partner with financial advisors and their exceptional client families on wealth transitions, family governance, and philanthropy.  She has additional responsibility of representing WM USA UHNW within the Client Strategy Office. 

Judy joined UBS in 2008 from Citi Family Office and prior to Citi, she was an analyst for Accolade Partners LP, a fund-to-funds venture capital firm in Washington, DC.

She graduated with honors from Drexel University with a degree in information systems and technology and a minor in business administration. Judy also received her M.B.A. from New York University.

Judy completed the Generational Wealth Transfer workshop given by the Institute for Preparing Heirs, the Family Firm Institute Certificates in Family Wealth Advising and Family Business Advising, and earned the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® designation. She is also Series 7, 63 and 65 licensed.

Susan Sy

Head Family Advisory
Philanthropy Services APAC

Susan has over a decade of experience in the area of philanthropy, partnership development, grant making and project management. She assists individuals and families in family succession and legacy planning. And by doing so, helps clients realize their philanthropic aspirations through advice on strategic philanthropic giving and structuring legacy vehicles to maximize their reach and impact.

Susan holds a Master of Business Administration from Henry Tippie College of Business, University of Iowa and is a graduate of the RMIT University where she majored in Business Management and Marketing.

Christina L. Y. Tung

Head Client Services, Client Development & Marketing, Greater China
Head UBS Optimus Foundation Hong Kong

Christina has been with UBS Global Wealth Management Hong Kong for 13 years, and is currently overseeing four business functions to drive the business strategies in Greater China. In her role as Head of Marketing, she is responsible for developing strategic marketing activities and client segmentation initiatives. As part of the Family Advisory and UBS Philanthropy Services team, she advises families and individuals on family legacy creation and making impact to society. And as Head of the UBS Optimus Foundation Hong Kong she drives impactful philanthropy through evidence-based, scalable solutions and innovative social finance with a focus on health, education, child protection and the environment.

Christina currently serves as a board member of CNEX Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, devoted to preserving cultures of Chinese communities in the forms of visual and audio documentaries.

Prior to UBS, Christina held diverse positions in both business and non-profit sectors for 10 years. She has experience in institution development, event management, marketing and communications.

She holds a Master degree in Communication Management from University of Southern California and a Bachelor degree in Law from University of London. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
