What is a UBS Global Visionary?

Global Visionaries are leading entrepreneurs – outstanding individuals working towards one or more of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. They're finding innovative solutions to societal issues, across diverse realms such as health; education; equality and the environment.

What are the Sustainable Development Goals?

They are a set of United Nations' goals, adopted in September 2015 to "end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all" as part of a sustainable development agenda.

How do we choose our Global Visionaries?

Global Visionaries are selected by a UBS board. They must meet the following selection criteria.

We are celebrating outstanding individuals who are:

Innovative

They are thought leaders at the forefront of innovation - their work is shaping our future - from the society we live in to the products we use.

Impactful

Their actions create positive environmental and/or social impact.

Compelling

They have a great story to tell and a clear, convincing message to share - which are of interest to UBS and its stakeholders.

And are working for organizations that are:

Sustainable

The organization has the potential and ability to be financially and operationally sustainable in the long run.

Scalable

The organization's method of solving societal challenges is designed to be scalable.

Compatible

The organization and its purpose complement our overall strategy and the support that we offer other Global Visionaries.

How do we support our Global Visionaries?

At any point in time, we support over 20 Global Visionaries (over 2 years) with:

Awareness creation: we amplify Global Visionary’s stories and organizations through our dedicated website, social media, publications and speaking engagements.
Network access: we connect our employees and clients to Global Visionaries at event, roundtables and bilateral meetings.
Capacity Building: we offer Global Visionaries pro-bono advice with our global network of employees acting as advisors on specific challenges and sponsor thematic workshops.

                We've supported more than 70 Visionaries from all continents in the last five years and the next 18 months will be pivotal in scaling that commitment to supporting many more.

                UBS Global Visionaries really is a unique programme, very hands-on and engaging. Kasha was selected because of its focus on women’s health, women’s rights; I think it says a lot that
