UBS Reaches Agreement in Legacy Dutch Credit Suisse Case

Zurich, September 22, 2026 – UBS Group AG has reached an agreement with the Dutch Public Prosecution Service to resolve a legacy matter in relation to an investigation against former Credit Suisse AG into alleged criminal liability related to inaccurate tax returns by 12 former Dutch clients during the period from 2005 to 2015. UBS will pay an amount of EUR 5 million to settle this matter. This agreement does not constitute a recognition of criminal liability.

UBS regrets that 12 former Dutch clients of Credit Suisse filed incorrect Dutch tax returns at the time and that, partly as a result of services provided by Credit Suisse, this was not apparent to the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration.

UBS has zero tolerance for tax evasion and updates its tax compliance policies regularly. The bank is pleased to have resolved this matter in line with its commitment to address legacy issues at pace and in the best interests of its stakeholders.
