• The football legend meets around 600 local students and aspiring young athletes at a UBS community event in Hong Kong today.
  • UBS is also launching the inaugural AIC Wealth Forum, underscoring Hong Kong’s role as a leading wealth management and family office hub.

Hong Kong, 26 May 2026 – UBS AG brings World Cup winner Thierry Henry to Hong Kong today for a community event as part of its flagship Asian Investment Conference (AIC, 瑞銀亞洲投資論壇). The French football legend is the featured athlete in this year’s UBS “Craft of Sport” series - a program that brings leading athletes into conversations about discipline, adaptability and leadership.

The Hong Kong events are part of a week-long pan-Asia AIC program spanning Hong Kong and Singapore, where UBS expects a record 6,000 participants, including investors, business leaders, policymakers and international speakers.

Today’s community session brings together around 600 local students aged 10 to18 years and aspiring young athletes from soccer academies and community sports organizations. Henry will give his perspectives on performance under pressure, discipline and the importance of preparation and practice. By bringing the program to both audiences, UBS is broadening the conference’s impact across the community and its investor network. Last year’s conference featured gymnast Simone Biles, the 2025 Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year, who hosted a special community event in the Circque du Soleil Big Top with 600 students.

Amy Lo, Chairman, UBS Global Wealth Management Asia, Head and Chief Executive of UBS Hong Kong, said: “The craft of sport – exemplified by an elite athlete’s dedication, resilience and the relentless pursuit of excellence – resonates powerfully with UBS’s vision that banking is our craft. Thierry’s story of perseverance and exceptional performance is not only inspiring young Hong Kong students today – it also reinforces UBS’s focus on disciplined, long-term success for our clients, which is the essence of the craft of long-term investing.”

The Inaugural AIC Wealth Forum

Today, UBS launched the inaugural AIC Wealth Forum(亞洲投資論壇財富峰會) in Hong Kong, a dedicated program for the bank’s Global Wealth Management clients, alongside a high-level Asia Pacific Family Office Summit. Together, these additions showcase Hong Kong’s strength as a leading wealth management and family office hub, and reinforce the city’s enduring status as a top international financial centre.

Iqbal Khan, Co-President of Global Wealth Management and President Asia Pacific, UBS, said: “Building on UBS’s One Bank approach, the AIC creates an important platform for conversations with clients about the opportunities and challenges shaping markets today. Expanding the conference across Hong Kong and Singapore allows us to connect investors, entrepreneurs and thought leaders, and to deliver insights that support confident long-term decision-making across geographies and businesses.”

Investing in an Age of Change

The main conference agenda, taking place in Hong Kong on 27 and 28 May, is expected to draw a record audience of more than 4,500 attendees from 38 markets across APAC, the Americas and EMEA, including representatives from over 400 leading public and private companies with a combined market capitalization exceeding USD10 trillion.

Under the theme “Investing in an Age of Change” (變革時代 投資未來), this year’s AIC will examine how investors can navigate macroeconomic uncertainty, geopolitical shifts and the long-term trends reshaping Asia.

The two-day agenda will bring together global and regional policymakers, business leaders, economists and subject-matter experts to discuss market outlooks, geopolitics, sustainability and technological innovation. Distinguished speakers across the week include:

  • The Hon Dr Kevin Rudd A.C., President and CEO, Asia Society; Former Ambassador of Australia to the United States; 26th Prime Minister of Australia;
  • David Rubenstein, Co‑Founder and Co‑Chairman of Carlyle;
  • Adrian Orr, former Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (2018-2025);

  • Dr Huang Haizhou, leading China macro financial economist and the People's Bank of China (PBoC) Monetary Policy Committee member, and other inspirational and thought-provoking speakers.

UBS will conclude this year’s AIC with “Nobel Perspectives Live!” (諾⾙爾視⻆), a special event for university students in Hong Kong featuring 2024 Nobel laureate Simon Johnson and Crimson Education founder Jamie Beaton in a discussion on the future of education in the age of AI, helping connect academic perspectives with real-world economic insights.
