UBS Named to Working Mother Magazine’s List of 100 Best Companies

New York, NY, September 26, 2017 – UBS today announced that it was awarded a top rank on Working Mother magazine’s “100 Best Companies” list due to outstanding leadership in creating progressive programs for the advancement of women, work flexibility, child care, and child care leave.

We're very proud of the progress we've made in creating an inclusive workplace where women are empowered with the flexibility, coaching and benefits they need in order to thrive," said Tom Naratil, President WMA and President Americas. "By implementing supportive policies and cultivating a culture that places personal and professional success, we aim to continue being a firm of choice for working mothers.

UBS also announced their Working Mother of the Year, Jeanne McLaughlin.

UBS is a trailblazer in the types of benefits it offers to its new parents. In 2016, the firm launched its Career Comeback program in the U.S. and Switzerland, which enables experienced professionals who have taken a break in their career for two or more years to transition back into the corporate world. This program, which is one of many tools being used to expand the firm’s female talent pipeline, hires returnees into a 16-week paid program that includes mentoring, coaching and more.

The firm also provides 16-weeks of paid child care leave to primary care givers, and its New Parent Coaching Program helps new parents navigate parenthood while also ensuring a successful transition in and out of the workplace by offering a dedicated parenting coach to advise new parents before they begin their leave, while they are on leave, and after they return to work.

UBS is aiming to increase its ratio of women in management roles, and recognizes that these types of innovative programs will promote the hiring and retention of the best talent.
