The white cube at Bahnhofstrasse 45

The building will be wrapped in white from the start of September to the end of construction. The covering at Bahnhofstrasse 45 has a dual function to ensure security and at the same time present an aesthetic façade during building work. The cover encloses the building in such a way that it takes the form of a giant white cube. The color is not pure white however, but has been built with a special construction that gives it an artistic flourish. For further information on the “Reflect” concept behind this, please visit our website. Once the construction work is completed, the building cover will be cleaned and recycled.

Built in 1916 and expanded in 1953, the UBS headquarters at Bahnhofstrasse 45, Zurich, has been undergoing comprehensive renovation work since October 2015. While having the necessary upgrades carried out on the premises, UBS is also taking the opportunity to fully renovate the building and enhance its impact on the urban surroundings. The concept for the renovation came from the general planning team of EM2N Architekten AG and demonstrates the successful symbiotic link between modern and traditional aspects, among other things. Renovation of the building complex will be completed in 2019. The renovation will allow UBS's main office to blend into its urban setting. Plans are also in place to revitalize the historic Münzhof with a café on Bahnhofstrasse. In addition, UBS is planning to ensure long-term flexibility of use via the various, independent entry points to the bank and shops.
