UBS expects an average nominal wage increase of 0.5% in Switzerland for 2016. Falling consumer prices and the strength of the Swiss franc dominate wage negotiations in the present economic environment. Given the negative annual inflation forecast for 2016, even sectors with an expected nominal zero pay increase may incur an average real wage increase of 0.4%.
