Close to 1,000 domestic and international investors are among the1,700 delegates registered to attend the UBS Greater China Conference (GCC) which, this year, has thetheme of “Investing in the new normal". The 15th edition of the conference is scheduled to take place in Shanghai between 12 and 16 January 2015.
Keynote speakers include XIA Bin, Research Fellow, Counsellor of the State Council, Honorary Director-General of the Finance Research Institute, Development Research Center of the State Council and Athanasios ORPHANIDES, Professor of the Practice of Global Economics and Management, MIT, former Member of the ECB, and senior adviser of the Federal Reserve System. UBS Chairman, Axel WEBER, will deliver the opening address and join the keynote panel while tennis legend and grand slam winner, LI Na, is a special guest at the event.

The GCC encompasses themed tracks, panel discussions and presentations delivered by leading economists and academics, award-winning UBS research analysts, policy makers, and senior executives of leading corporations. Day one of the conference will feature a discussion on managing China's transition to the "new normal" and three other tracks: "China's next phase" which explores the dramatic changes affecting the auto, oil substitute and banking sectors; "Into a new world", which looks into the economic and other forces that are reshaping the world; and "New leader, new agenda", which focuses on the new social and political agenda and the respective investment opportunities. On day two, discussion topics include: the further opening up of China; the challenges and opportunities that come with internet, data, and technological change; reversal of fortune; and reform.
