Meet our five new Global Visionaries!
Even though we are coming to the end of another year – the UBS Global Visionaries program continues at full pace!
After a fantastic selection of social entrepreneur nominees to choose from – we are excited to share with you the five new visionaries joining our cohort! Anyone else excited to follow their journeys with us over the next two years? We thought so! Best get introduced.
AfriScout was created by Chris Bessenecker and Jennifer Waugaman, who work for the non-profit development organization, Global Communities. It’s the only grazing management service app designed for and with pastoralists, and has used their local insights, cultural practices, languages and contextual knowledge of grazing areas.
Yishan Wong started his company, Terraformation, to help solve climate change by bringing about restoration of USD 3 billion acres of native forest. Yishan says that the science and math show that it is physically possible, and that this will yield a carbon sink of sufficient scale to draw down all or most of our extant CO2 emissions.
Since David Yeung established Green Monday in 2012, their team has been working tirelessly to inspire, empower and influence global citizens to adopt a plant-centric diet for the good of the planet, animals and health. To date, the Green Monday movement has reached more than 30 countries with their products available through over 40,000 vendor points in 20 different markets.
Working towards SDG 14 (Life below Water), we’re pleased to welcome Chris Kerr and Chad Sarno from US-based Good Catch. They’re a chef-driven brand developing flavorful, plant-based seafood products that offer the taste, texture, and eating experience of seafood, without harming the environment.
And, finally, we have Joanna Bichsel, who founded Kasha in 2016 in Rwanda as a purpose-driven company which helps women across all social and economic spectrums get access to what they need, how they want it. They focus on self-care and health products serving women, whether they live in rural or urban settings.
But don’t take our word for how inspiring they are; go and check out their profiles and their visions!

These new UBS Global Visionaries take the number of impact entrepreneurs that we’ve supported to 62 since we started in 2016.
In 2021 to date, over 61 clients have been connected directly with our Global Visionaries and 79 events have been hosted where they were the featured speaker. Over 15,000 clients and 10,000 employees have participated in these events.
Feedback from our clients has shown that this gives them a new way to engage with their passions and learn about new topics or technology. As our clients are increasingly putting purpose at the heart of their business and personal priorities, they’re excited to engage in a tangible way with inspiring changemakers, to take action and to have a positive impact on the world.
In return, our UBS Global Visionaries say they benefit from our clients sharing their skills, experience and contacts. In fact, Good Catch expressed it well when we shared the news of their selection:
