UBS wins the Master of Swiss Web award and two golds for its new e-banking platform at the "Best of Swiss Web Awards." UBS received awards in 7 out of 11 categories.

Zurich/Basel, 4 April 2014 – The "Best of Swiss Web Awards" were presented in Zurich for the fourteenth time. The new e-banking platform won out against the other candidates for the Master of Swiss Web title and emerged the clear winner at the award night, receiving golds in the categories Technology and Mobile Web. "It was an outstanding project in terms of technology and expertise. The scope and depth of its implementation are impressive," was the jury's verdict. It praised the platform's many consistently implemented functions, such as budget planning, which contribute towards a consistent user experience on the platform. UBS also received awards in the categories Innovation, Usability, Business, Online Marketing and Move: moving image on the Web.

Development of the new UBS e-banking platform and the mobile banking app was achieved in collaboration with Namics. The launch of the numerous new digital functionalities was accompanied by a broad-based marketing and educational campaign. UBS was supported in this by the Hinderling Volkart agency.

Best of Swiss Web is an initiative of simsa (Swiss Internet Industry Association) and Netzmedien AG, the leading specialist media company in Switzerland for ICT, Web, telecommunications and home electronics. It honours the best Web projects of the year and is considered to be the most important awards ceremony in the Swiss Web and IT sector.

UBS was also honoured at the international "Celent Model Bank Awards" for its secure and convenient authentication solution for mobile banking
The international "Celent Model Bank Awards" are presented for the best technology applications in the banking sector. UBS has won an award in the payment innovations category for its secure logic in the mobile banking app via Access Card NFC. If a client's smartphone supports wireless exchange of access data (e.g. newer Android devices), using the NFC-enabled Access Card and the accompanying PIN they can log in directly to UBS mobile banking. Payments and securities trading can then be carried out securely and conveniently.

Celent is an international research and consulting firm focusing on the application of information technology in the global financial sector. It is part of the Olyver Wyman Group. The "Celent Model Bank Awards" are being presented this year for the seventh time.
