UBS Group today announced the appointment of Keiichi Miki as Representative Director and President, UBS Global Asset Management (Japan) Ltd effective immediately. Miki assumes the role from Kai Sotorp, member of UBS’s Group Managing Board and head of UBS Global Asset Management for Asia Pacific, who led the Japan entity for a transitional period since July 2013. Sotorp will focus on his role as head of the Asia Pacific region.

Miki joins UBS from Lazard Asset Management K.K. in Japan, where he served as that firm's representative director and president. Prior to that, he served as the head of JP Morgan's Japanese asset management operations for eight years. Altogether Miki brings more than three decades of financial industry expertise to his role.

"His wide-ranging knowledge of the funds management industry will further the momentum that UBS Global Asset Management Japan has achieved to date. He will also enhance our engagement with Japanese clients as they draw on UBS’s extensive global expertise and resources.”
