• PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) contamination, also called “forever chemicals”, is one of the most persistent global water challenges, with thousands of compounds increasingly found across groundwater, surface water, and industrial systems, many of which are difficult to remove using conventional methods.
  • With the goal to permanently remove over 50 tons of PFAS by 2030, Oxyle is developing advanced, modular PFAS destruction systems to do just that.
  • PFAS destruction is delivered through OxLight, Oxyle’s proprietary photochemical reduction technology. OxLight combines UV light with proprietary mediator chemicals to aim to break down even the hardest-to-treat PFAS.
  • The technology has demonstrated strong real-world and lab performance, treating over 3 million litres of contaminated water to date and achieving >99% degradation of difficult PFAS compounds, including TFA (Trifluoroacetic acid) and PFBA (perfluorobutyric acid).
At Oxyle, we’re on a mission to permanently eliminate PFAS from our waters. Down to
the last drop.

  • Each system is fine-tuned to the individual site’s water chemistry, operating conditions, and treatment objectives.
  • Oxyle’s innovation has been recognised globally. Its awards and recognitions include the Green Business Award (2026), World Economic Forum UpLink Top Innovator (2025), and Swiss Technology Award (2024.
  • Dr. Fajer Mushtaq, the Co-Founder and CEO of Oxyle, combines deep expertise in micro- and nanotechnology for environmental remediation (ETH Zurich) with a mission to translate scientific breakthroughs into scalable solutions that permanently eliminate PFAS and protect human and environmental health.
