Neurodiversity shows up differently for everyone – and no one should have to navigate it alone.

At UBS, our long‑standing Neurodiversity Coffee Corners, part of the broader Ability Coffee Corners, create a safe space for employees to connect, share experiences and support one another. These conversations are built on openness, trust and the understanding that there is no single way of experiencing or navigating neurodiversity. We’re taking the spirit of those honest conversations a step further by spotlighting colleagues who have chosen to share their stories more widely.

Chris is a Service Delivery Manager in the Investment Bank in London. In his video, he reflects on how his neurodiversity journey began, the support he’s found through mentoring, and the tools he uses day-to-day to thrive at work. His story shows how access to the right support and community can make a real difference.

Being neurodivergent is both a challenge and a strength.

My diagnosis became a guide – it helped me understand myself and be understood better by others.

For Małgorzata, a software engineer in Poland, navigating her neurodiversity means balancing unique strengths with everyday challenges. Her ability to spot patterns helps her excel in her role, while sensitivity to light and sound can sometimes be overwhelming. Having the flexibility to adjust her workday and take breaks when needed allows her to work at her best – and shows how openness and supportive managers can create trust and understanding.

Understanding my Autism and ADHS has been key to bringing my best self to work.

Gamification, novelty, and flexible working keep me motivated and engaged.

Becca’s experience highlights yet another path. After receiving a later‑in‑life diagnosis of Autism and ADHS, she gained clarity on how her brain works best. This insight enabled her to change direction and build a successful career as a data engineer. Complex problems energize her focus, and approaches like gamification help her thrive when tackling challenging tasks.

All these stories are different, but they share one message: there is no single “right” way to navigate neurodiversity – only the way that works best for you. By staying open, offering flexibility and practical support, we can build workplaces where everyone feels valued and able to succeed.
