Get yourself noticed by the employers
Get yourself noticed by the employers
Set it and don’t forget it
Keep your profile up to date and as accurate as you can. Recruiters want to see what you're currently doing and where your expertise is.
Follow companies and influencers
Following companies and influencers will help you to keep up to date with industry news and trends. Good market knowledge is vital during interviews.
Share your knowledge
Your unique combination of experience and personality is key to your success on LinkedIn. Share your knowledge and engage with your connections.
Think twice before you post
LinkedIn is a global network. Regardless of your privacy settings, your comments, posts and likes can reach a much wider audience than you'd expect.
Write in the first person
Don't write about yourself in the third person. If you want to tell a story about your career journey, be the main actor.
Use your network
Make use of your new connections. Don't be afraid to ask for recommendations or for an introduction. If you write endorsements for people, you’re more likely to get one back.
Highlight your achievements
Showcase your achievements, awards and jobs well done. Your profile is the best place to brag a little about your successes.
Ensure you have all your education information
Put all the information around your education and certificates into your profile. (You didn’t spend all that time studying just to hide them away.)
Integrity is important
Remember that your profile is your personal brand. How do you want potential employers to perceive you? Stay true to your values and goals, and you’re more likely to find a culture that fits.
Communicate
If someone gets in touch with an interesting offer, reply as soon as you can. Don’t forget, recruiters have deadlines as well.
Follow the above and you probably won’t be waiting too long for the first sourcers or recruiters to contact you.
