Women put off their retirement planning
Women have many reasons to get active about their retirement planning.

Retirement planning and nursing care. Three out of four women consider these two long-term financial needs to be very important. This is demonstrated by the UBS Investor Watch Study. Despite holding these views, the study participants often leave long-term finances to their partner. In only one in three marriages do women make such decisions, or are joint decisions made.

Why it is worth gaining this knowledge

Women in particular have every reason to get to grips with their long-term finances. They live to an average age of over 85 – that’s 4 years more than men. Their longer life expectancy has an impact on the investment horizon, but also places special demands on retirement provision. This is exacerbated by loss of earnings, such as maternity breaks or lower contributions due to part-time work. Unsurprisingly, the majority of women surveyed consider retirement planning to be the most urgent issue. It’s high time therefore that they acquire this knowledge.
