How can ESG factors be considered in China multi-asset investing?
Gian Plebani, PM for UBS China Allocation Opportunity (multi-asset China strategy) portfolio says that ESG factors significant in China investing because the government is serious about climate change.
"The Chinese government is very serious about being climate aware and keen to change their carbon usage over the next 20 years.
So you can expect companies that have a good ESG ranking to outperform which is why we take it into consideration whenever we buy a stock or a bond from the bottom up perspective.
ESG factors are significant in the Chinese environment."
