Group Managing Director, Head IPS Global Financial Intermediaries
Stefano started his career at UBS AG in 1981. After serving as client advisor for Corporate Clients and Wealth Management clients in Switzerland and in New York, he covered a wide range of line management position in several areas of Wealth Management. He was Head of High Net Worth Individuals and the Ultra-HNWI business for Italy International, before being appointed Head of Ultra HNWI business for the global established markets in Switzerland. Previously to his current role started in 2015, Stefano led Wealth Management Europe International (i.e. the European cross-border business out of Switzerland and Singapore) since 2012. He was appointed Group Managing Director in 2014.
Head of FIM Switzerland
Stephan is responsible for all assets booked in FIM Switzerland, which includes FIM Deutschschweiz, FIM Suisse Romande, FIM Ticino and Global Emerging Markets as well as European markets served out of Switzerland. He has over 20 years' experience at UBS in wealth management, including senior international roles in Singapore and Hong Kong. He also holds an MBA from IMD Lausanne. Stephan began his career at UBS with a financial internship in 1993. He then moved to UBS London in 1996 to work in Asset Management. Upon returning to Switzerland, he held several roles in Wealth Management International, mainly for the German market. His achievements include setting up the Financial Intermediaries business and devising its strategy. Stephan gained experience in Asia as the Country Team Head Philippines in Singapore from 2007 to 2010, later going on to represent the Southeast Asian wealth management markets in Hong Kong. He returned to Switzerland in 2011 to become Head of FIM for German-speaking Switzerland and was appointed to his current post in 2015.
Head of FIM Europe
Beat is responsible for the FIM desks in eight European domestic locations (Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, France, Monte Carlo, UK, Jersey), and a Latin American FIM desk served out of Hamburg. A chemist by training, he worked as a management consultant for more than seven years at McKinsey in Switzerland and Morocco before joining UBS. Beat started his career at UBS in 2006 as Head Sales Development, responsible for sales and advisor effectiveness programs in Europe, Singapore and Hong Kong. In 2008, Beat assumed leadership of the Germany and Austria offshore market in eastern and southern Switzerland. Four years later, he went to lead the Wealth Management business for the southern part of UBS Deutschland AG. He then returned to Switzerland to negotiate and implement the new cross border license for UBS to operate in the German market. In 2015, Beat was appointed Market Head for FIM Europe. Beat holds a Ph.D. in chemistry and an MBA from INSEAD.
Hugo van Kattendijke
Head of FIM Asia Pacific
Hugo is the Head of Global Financial Intermediaries APAC, responsible for the GFIM desks in Hong Kong and Singapore. He has lived and worked in Asia over 18 years, predominantly in Hong Kong and Singapore. Over the last seven years at UBS Hugo has worked in a range of client facing and managerial roles, including as Head of Asset Servicing APAC where he was responsible for the transformation of a start-up business in the region into a robust platform for delivering the service and infrastructure needs of sophisticated Wealth Management clients. He was appointed to his current role in early 2018.
Prior to joining UBS Hugo worked at Harcourt Investment Consulting as regional head for APAC. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and an M.Sc. in Econometrics from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.
Head of FIM Ticino, Emerging and European
Markets served out of Switzerland
Claudio is responsible for five desks with staff in four locations (Lugano, Geneva, Zurich, Panama) covering FIMs located on 3 continents. Claudio started his career in 1995 at SBC Warburg (Geneva), the Investment Banking division of the Swiss Banking Corporation, selling Japanese and Asian equities and derivatives to institutional clients. After five years he moved to the Wealth Management division and covered various management positions, including the Head of Sales & Brokerage in Lugano, Switzerland. In 2006, he moved to Milan as Head Products & Services of UBS Italy where he was appointed Managing Director. Since 2009, Claudio has led the Italian-speaking (Ticino) market of UBS Global FIM and in 2015 also took responsibility for the Emerging Markets segment. Claudio holds a university degree in Business Administration from Université de Neuchâtel and is a chartered CFA.
