Graduate event in Singapore

We've all been there – impatiently waiting for a speaker to wrap up the never-ending number of slides. This year in Singapore, we decided to spice things up a little. Literally.

Guillaume, head of APAC macro sales in the Investment Bank, kick-started the session by introducing UBS and its business areas. He turned the tables around and asked the audience questions, keeping it light-hearted yet relevant. Our students shared their thoughts on what is important to them in a career and an employer. We were delighted to hear that "people" was at the top of their minds. Since collaboration is within our DNA, it was easy for our speakers to illustrate examples of our culture.

Sharing a meal helps to break down barriers, so the students then adjourned to dinner with UBS business representatives. In a new twist on "speed-dating," our representatives spent 15 minutes at each table interacting with the students and sharing their UBS stories. This gave our guests a chance to ask any remaining questions and the conversations flowed.

Overall, our students thoroughly enjoyed themselves. One commented, "I would just like to thank you all for the extra thought and effort. The 'dining with UBS' session really allowed a lot of us to have a much better chance to interact with the various department representatives and to get to know each of their personal experiences with UBS. I personally thought that it is a very nice initiative and would like to express my thanks to UBS Human Resources for going the extra mile to create a more beneficial experience for the students."
