According to Universum’s 2025 survey, UBS is the #1 employer of choice among business students in Switzerland. One in four students picked us as their top destination to start a career – and for the first time ever, female business students ranked us #1 too.

This recognition is more than a ranking – it’s a reflection of the trust people place in our firm. It’s also a testament to our strong reputation, our ability to add real value to careers, and our standing as a highly recognized, innovative and respected institution. It shows that young professionals see UBS not just as a place to work, but as a place to grow, have impact and thrive.

The result is rooted in Switzerland, but it speaks to our shared commitment to nurturing talent across all regions.

A closer look at the numbers

This year’s Universum ranking, based on feedback from over 8,000 students across Switzerland, shows that we’re not just keeping up – we’re pulling ahead. We strengthened our lead with 24.4% of business students choosing UBS, up from 20.8% last year. And the gap between us and the next employer on the list? Nearly 10 percentage points.

IT students: now in the top 3 (up from 4th)
Law students: also top 3 (up from 10th)
Engineering & natural sciences students: gaining ground fast

These results reflect not only UBS’s standing in our home market, Switzerland, but also our role in shaping the future of finance: the financial sector is becoming increasingly attractive to students – with three of the top five employers named in the survey coming from our industry. Our strong focus on AI and our efforts to spotlight cutting-edge innovation and impactful technology initiatives – including our AI-first approach – have helped position UBS as a forward-looking employer and a leader in innovation.
