UBS is proud to be the principal corporate sponsor of newly opened exhibition ‘Somos Híbridos: El Cuerpo como Imaginario’ (We are Hybrids: The Imaginary Body), exploring the hybrid body in art at Mexico City's Museo del Palacio de las Bellas Artes. This wide-ranging group exhibition includes an unusual and eclectic mix of works by artists including Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Diego Rivera, Francisco Goya and Carlos Amorales. More broadly, it offers an unflinching look at the distinct histories, stories and cultural imaginaries that have given form to the hybrid beings on view.

The exhibition emerged out of a major symposium of the same name which took place in February 2016, and has evolved from a continuous dialogue between the disciplines of art, science and anthropology. As the result of a unique collaborative project between three museums: the Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes and el Museo Nacional de Antropología in Mexico City, and the Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne, Switzerland, it brings together leading collections of fine art, anthropological artefacts and photography, respectively.

Somos Híbridos: El Cuerpo como Imaginario runs at the Museo del Palacio de las Bellas Artes until 27 May 2018
