Eight out of ten women are mainly concerned with immediate financial issues, such as managing daily expenses and paying bills, rather than long-term financial decisions. These numbers are demonstrated by the UBS Investor Watch study. For example, only one woman in every four takes the initiative in long-term financial decisions.
The awareness is there – you need to get involved
The awareness is there – you need to get involved
Women are very aware of their long-term financial needs. For example, three out of four women cite both retirement planning and planning for elderly care as the most important long-term financial issues. However, few women actively deal with them. Why? Many women believe that their partner is better at making investment decisions and that a lot of knowledge is required.
However, the study also confirms that an active examination of long-term financial issues is worthwhile. For example, 88% of women surveyed are less concerned about their financial future if they are actively involved in long-term financial decisions.
So make sure you also get involved. For example, here at the UBS Women’s Wealth Academy, find out about important financial issues such as retirement provision.
