In Switzerland, salary components above CHF 136,080 may be insured in a 1e plan. The name refers to article 1e of the Federal Law on Occupational Retirement, Survivors’ and Disability Pension Plans (BVV 2). The main advantage for 1e plan participants is that they can choose the investment strategy for their pension assets in the 1e plan themselves. As a result, the investment strategy can be regularly adapted to a person’s personal risk capacity and individual investment horizon.
