FAQ for Payments

All UBS Credit and Prepaid Cards – both Mastercard and Visa – are supported for both private and corporate clients.

The last ten transactions can be viewed in the Apple Pay app. You can find an overview of all of your purchases on your card bill or in UBS Digital Banking.

If a payment was charged twice, you can dispute it once the amounts have been debited from your account. In this case, contact us immediately via mailbox in your E-Banking or in the Mobile Banking App.

Contactless payments are very safe, provided you keep hold of your card throughout the payment process.

You must place your card very close to the card reader for it to communicate with it. In addition, your card can only process one payment transaction at a time. The security chip assigns each individual transaction a unique code. If this code were to be used a second time for a transaction, this would be noticed immediately and the payment blocked.

The fact that you have to enter your PIN for amounts above CHF 80 also means higher security.

Reserved amounts are those on hold that have not actually been paid yet but are still being processed. In E-Banking they are easily identified by their red font and the clock icon.

The reserved amount is often higher than the amount finally debited. Good examples are payments at gas stations, for hotel reservations or car rentals where a higher amount is often reserved and the correct amount charged to your card around five days later.
