2015 UBS HSC Economics Day

More than 850 students and teachers recently attended the fifth annual UBS HSC Economics Day for secondary school students in Australia. The initiative aims to assist Year 12 HSC economics students meet the demands of their curriculum.

The UBS HSC Economics Day looks to bridge the gap between text book economics and real time global economic challenges. Speakers including, Scott Haslem, UBS Chief Economist; Ross Gittins, Economics Editor of the Sydney Morning Herald, Dr Michael Plumb, Reserve Bank of Australia; Andrew Lilley, UBS Interest Rate Strategist and Tim Riley, Director of Economics Literacy Centre encouraged the students to start thinking about fundamental terms and concepts which underpin the subject and make it easier for students to combine real world economics and the theory of the NSW HSC Economics course.
