Justine is Global Chairperson of the firm and is a senior partner in the private client and tax team. She is also head of the Swiss Practice and leads the firm's Community, Planet and Impact initiatives.
Justine joined Withers in 1999, becoming partner in 2004. She founded Withers' Swiss Practice in Geneva in 2005 and has led it since that date. She co-headed the firm's Global Private Client and Tax team from 2016-19, when she was voted into the position of Chairperson. She has a very successful practice as a leading tax, trusts and estates adviser, working with international families on their succession planning and the structuring of their personal assets and business interests.
Justine's day-to-day work focuses on advising global families, their family offices and their trustees on generational transition and family governance. She works with families on international tax and estate planning matters to implement their long-term succession plans. Justine also helps families and their trustees to navigate their way through international tax enquiries and other contentious matters. Justine assists her clients to create structures and other legal solutions to help protect their families and their assets and to manage their business risk in an ever more transparent world.
Justine is closely involved with many of her clients' philanthropic endeavours, both in an advisory capacity and as a board member for their charitable organisations.
Berry is a Partner at Withers LLP and is based in the Geneva office. He was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2010 and practiced in the UK prior to moving to Switzerland in 2023. He advises individuals, trust companies and international financial institutions on a wide range of issues, including domicile, tax residence, pre-arrival and departure planning, cross-border succession planning and the use of trusts and other asset holding structures.
With over 25 years in the banking industry, Maria has gained a wealth of experience from holding regional and global roles at Goldman Sachs, Citi, and AIG, particularly in wealth management and corporate banking. Maria’s entrepreneurial stint, spanning three years, enriched her understanding of business from a different perspective. She has a double master’s degree in social science from the University of Uppsala. Maria’s strategic insight and dedication to sustainable growth are complemented by her commitment to fostering a diverse and forward-thinking culture, continually driving innovation and client satisfaction.
Allison Day has worked for the UK market at UBS since 2007 and is a solicitor of England and Wales and a Chartered Tax Advisor. She works with a variety of clients, both UK and non-UK domiciled clients, with a focus on tax planning and helping to establish appropriate structures for wealth management and estate planning for UK resident individuals. Before working at UBS, she was a private client solicitor at Hunters Solicitors in London and then spent a further six years as Legal Counsel to Rothschild Trust AG in Switzerland.
