The South West and Wales team

Regional head: Martyn Begbour

Martyn joined UBS in 2011 and has been working in wealth management for over 25 years. He primarily works with entrepreneurs in the South Central region prior to or after a liquidity event. Martyn is a Chartered Wealth Manager and has a BSc (Hons) in Geography. He likes to spend his spare time with his family, playing golf or watching Southampton FC.


Client advisors

Responsible for looking after your wealth management needs, client advisors help you with your wealth strategy, advise on investment products and assist you in pension planning. They’re also your gateway to further UBS expertise, should you need specialist advice from our mortgage solutions team or help with selling your business, for instance.

Matthew Marsden - Head of the South West & Wales office

Matt joined UBS in 2016 and has been providing wealth management advice for over 20 years – from comprehensive financial plans to assistance with more specific objectives related to investing, lending, multi-generational and wealth preservation planning. Matt is a Chartered Wealth Manager and holds the Diploma in Financial Planning with the Personal Finance Society and the Private Client Investment Advice and Management Certificate with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. Matt and his wife live in Newport and have 3 children.

Matthew Noyce

Matt has been advising ultra high net worth clients for over 15 years both in the UK and Middle East. He has spent the last 10 years with a particular focus on developing client relationships in Dorset and the surrounding region and joined UBS in 2018. He is a Chartered Wealth Manager and specialises in investments, lending, and next generation wealth planning. Matt is a Governor of Milton Abbey School, Dorset and in his spare time enjoys skiing, travel, rugby and supporting Southampton FC. He lives near Wimborne, Dorset with his wife and 3 children.

Kate Richardson

Kate is a Chartered fellow of the CISI (Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment) and holds the Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice and Management. Kate has worked at UBS Wealth Management for over 14 years assisting High Net worth individuals and their families with their wealth management needs. Prior to this Kate worked at UBS Investment bank after gaining a first class honours degree from Aston Business School. Kate has a young family and enjoys most sports and outdoor pursuits.

Wayne Newlands

Wayne joined UBS in 2006 and has over 20 years of experience of working with a range of clients from a variety of backgrounds including entrepreneurs, business owners, finance professionals and company executives across the Resident Domiciled and Resident Non-Domiciled space. He is a Chartered Wealth Manager, a Fellow of the Chartered Securities Institute (FCSI) and additionally holds Advanced Financial Planning Certificates with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). In his spare time, Wayne enjoys tennis, travel and spending time with his young family.

Financial planner

Financial planners work as specialists alongside your client advisor, providing bespoke financial planning advice. A team of planners and administrators support our financial planners, efficiently executing this advice, providing you with excellent client service, and offering access to other UBS resources. These resources can range from investment management to estate planning and corporate finance advice, in addition to specific wealth management products and services.

Julian Warden

Julian joined UBS in 2012 and specialises in advising individuals and their families on personal financial planning, retirement and estate planning as well as tax-efficient investing and life assurance needs. He has worked in the UK financial services industry for over 30 years. Julian was awarded Chartered Financial Planner status in 2005 and holds Fellowships with the Personal Finance Society, the Pensions Management Institute and the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Client advisor assistant

Client advisor assistants are an integral part of the team, providing you with most of your day-to-day administrative support including payments, transfers and trades.

Amy Keast

Having joined UBS in 2016 Amy supports the South, South West and Wales team as a Senior Client Advisor Assistant. In 2019, Amy completed the Level 4 Associate Project Management Qualification via the UBS Career Development scheme. In her spare time she enjoys playing hockey, travelling and cooking.

Nicky Hargrave

Nicky joined UBS in 2004 following a career change in Graphic Design. Nicky worked for the Newcastle office for over 15 years, but has now moved to support the South West team in all of the administrative aspects of account management for private clients, charities and pension funds as a Client Advisor Assistant. Nicky has a passion for cooking, travelling, walking, reading and playing computer games (not all at the same time).
