UBS ETFs surpass USD 100 billion in assets
- UBS ETF assets under management have more than tripled in the past five years to surpass the USD 100 billion milestone
- As a leading provider of sustainable ETFs, UBS has launched 17 new funds in 2021 alone
- UBS provides access to the largest range of currency-hedged ETFs in Europe
UBS Asset Management (UBS AM) is pleased to announce that its range of exchange traded funds (ETFs) has passed USD 100 billion in assets under management becoming one of a select few European ETF providers to reach this milestone.
UBS AM launched its first ETFs in 2001 with a handful of core equity funds. Through our ongoing engagement with investors, exchanging feedback and ideas, the offering has continuously developed to deliver innovative solutions to meet their needs. The diverse product offering of 130 ETFs act as flexible building blocks across equities, fixed income, commodities, and alternative strategies. UBS ETF assets under management have increased from around USD 30bn five years ago to USD 100bn today - an annual growth rate of 27%, which is higher than the European ETF market average.
Over the past decade, there has been a notable shift of investors towards more sustainable ETFs. As sustainable ETFs out-paced other ETFs, UBS AM has been able to capitalise on this growth, raising invested assets of USD 35bn making UBS the second-largest European provider in this category. In 2021, UBS AM launched 17 new sustainable ETFs, including a full suite of Paris-aligned benchmarks.
UBS AM also offers the widest range of currency-hedged share class ETFs in the UCITS ETF market.
Clemens Reuter, Global Head of ETF & Index Fund Client Coverage at UBS Asset Management, said: “The growth of our ETF business to USD 100bn is testament to our focus on investors’ needs and the breadth of our offering, providing a transparent and flexible way to invest across key markets and assets classes.”
Ian Ashment, Head of Systematic & Index Investing said, “Our commitment to sustainable investing across our indexing business has helped UBS AM grow to become the second-largest European manager of indexed assets. ETFs are a core part of our offering and we continually seek to develop innovative new products and solutions in index management for our clients.”
