CIO Live Global: Iran conflict – A conversation with General David Petraeus

CIO Live Global: Iran conflict update

Heightened tensions around Iran and disruption near the Strait of Hormuz have tightened energy supply, keeping oil elevated and volatility higher across markets. Investors are weighing the risk that a prolonged closure feeds inflation and slows growth against a scenario where flows resume and prices ease quickly. Policy choices in Washington and other capitals will shape the path from here.

To help contextualize the most recent developments, Kiran Ganesh, Global Head of Investment Communications is joined by Dirk Effenberger, Head of Investment Management & Risk, Giovanni Staunovo, CIO Commodity Strategist and Andrew Dubinsky, US Senior Economist.

The market impact from the US-Iran conflict broadened last week, with equities and bonds both declining against a backdrop of further surges in oil and gas prices. In this session, Kiran Ganesh, Global Head of Investment Communications speaks with General David Petraeus for his insights into the latest developments.

General Petraeus served over 37 years in the US military, culminating in six consecutive commands, including command of the Surge in Iraq, command of US Central Command, and command of coalition forces in Afghanistan.
