Market pressure, institutional checks-and-balances as well longer-term political objectives will keep the 2019 budget in check, says Federico Fubini, Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Economics Writer of the Corriere della Sera, Italy's leading daily newspaper. Fubini has also contributed to Die Zeit and Project Syndicate and published several books. He is closely following the policies of the new government and his June interview with Finance Minister Tria sparked a big rally in Italian assets.
