Shanghai, 6 November 2017 – UBS today opened the second UBS University campus in China. Located at the UBS Business Solutions Center (UBS-BSC) in Wuxi, the campus supplements existing UBS University campuses in Asia Pacific in Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore and India.

"China is a key market for UBS and one in which we will continue to invest. The opening of another campus in China this year further demonstrates our commitment to developing local talent to support business growth. UBS's workforce in China already exceeds 1,000 and we are well on track to achieve our objective of doubling headcount here by 2020,"said Eugene QIAN, Chairman of UBS China Strategy Board.

"UBS Business Solutions Centers provide effective, efficient and innovative solutions to all UBS businesses globally. Since UBS-BSC China began the operation in Wuxi last year, we have expanded both the team and office floor space to 300 employees and 4,700 square meters, respectively, and added new services such as robotic and big data development," said Yan WANG, General Manager of UBS Business Solutions Center (BSC) China.

The Wuxi Campus offers tailor-made training and professional development programs targeting a younger workforce with an average age of 27. An example is the Unveiling `Gen Y Mystery` workshop, which seeks to help senior management better understand and communicate with Gen-Y employees. The Campus also runs an International Talent Exchange Program to help high-potential staff network with other UBS offices.

UBS China also works closely with leading universities to provide development opportunities and platforms for young talent. For the second year, UBS and Fudan University have jointly rolled out the Finance Certificate and Scholarship Program which provides local talent with international insight, professional knowledge and practical skills. Participants completing the program have priority for UBS China's summer internship and graduate talent programs, and, based on performance, outstanding students could qualify for the UBS Scholarship.
