Ad hoc announcement pursuant to Article 53 of the SIX Exchange Regulation Listing Rules
Zürich – Am 5. Mai 2025 hat Credit Suisse Services AG eine Vereinbarung mit dem US-Justizministerium (DOJ) getroffen zur Beilegung einer seit langem laufenden Untersuchung bezüglich der Umsetzung von Credit Suisses Schuldeingeständnis in Steuerangelegenheiten von 2014. Diese Untersuchung begann, bevor Credit Suisse von UBS übernommen wurde. Die Vereinbarung bezieht sich auf das in der Schweiz verbuchte grenzüberschreitende Geschäft der Credit Suisse mit US-Steuerpflichtigen. Credit Suisse Services AG hat sich in einem Fall der Verschwörung zur Beihilfe und Unterstützung bei der Erstellung falscher Einkommenssteuererklärungen schuldig bekannt und wird insgesamt USD 371,9 Mio. bezahlen. Credit Suisse Services AG hat gleichzeitig auch ein Non-Prosecution Agreement in Bezug auf US-Steuerpflichtige abgeschlossen, die im früheren Buchungszentrum von Credit Suisse Singapur gebucht wurden, und wird hierfür insgesamt USD 138,7 Mio. zahlen.
UBS war nicht in das zugrunde liegende Verhalten verwickelt und hat eine Null-Toleranz gegenüber Umgehung von Steuern.
UBS ist erfreut, mit dieser Vereinbarung eine weitere Altlast von Credit Suisse erledigt zu haben. Dies steht im Einklang mit dem Bestreben von UBS, Altlasten zügig, auf faire und ausgewogene Weise im besten Interesse ihrer Stakeholder zu lösen.
Im zweiten Quartal erwartet UBS Group AG eine Gutschrift aus der teilweisen Auflösung der mit der Übernahme von Credit Suisse im Rahmen der Kaufpreisallokation gebildeten Eventualverbindlichkeiten. UBS AG erwartet im Zusammenhang mit dieser Lösung im zweiten Quartal eine Belastung.
